About Me
I've been a medical doctor for over 25 years, mostly in General Practice. I have always been fascinated by the lives and stories of my patients—how their experiences, relationships, stress and emotions shape their health in ways that medicine often can't explain. This gradually taught me that effective healthcare is much more than treating illness and disease.
Understanding health challenges in the context of the whole person—mind, body, emotions, spirit and life experience—is essential for our whole being to find balance and allow healing to naturally unfold. This is supported by growing evidence in neuroscience about how the mind, brain and body are deeply connected.
I have trained extensively in coaching, mind-body medicine and other therapeutic approaches to offer a service that gives my clients the time, space and attention they need to understand their bodies more deeply and move towards what matters most to them, allowing health and wholeness to flourish.
I have also recovered from my own chronic pain and health challenges using these very techniques—which deepened my understanding of what's truly possible.
I live in North Devon with my family and our pets. I love yoga, hiking, and generally being outside as much as possible!
My Training & Qualifications
I have trained in a variety of psychological and experiential techniques over the last few years. This broad learning has deepened my understanding of the neuroscience underlying the mind-body connection and how working directly with the brain and nervous system through neuroplasticity (the brain's ability to create new neural connections) can bring lasting change to both physical and mental health.
I have also worked with thousands of patients as a doctor, so I have a firm grounding in knowing how to safely work with the body and how to counsel people through difficult times.
My coach training has taught me how to create a safe, trusting relationship where my clients learn to meet themselves with curiosity and presence. Through this shift in how they relate to themselves, they gain clarity about what matters and the confidence to make changes that bring improved health and greater balance to their lives.
You do not need to know or understand about any of these techniques to work with me but, where possible, I have linked the qualification to the relevant organisational websites for those who would like to know more.
